courtesy of a stylecaster team, 50 new yorkers were curated for a list of the most stylish, and those who embody the livelihood of the big apple. from all walks of life, from editorial to retail, beauty, music and beyond, the 50 were beautifully captured by stefani pappas. here are my fave five, but to see them all click HERE. i think this idea is incredible! it would be interesting to do the same for montreal. maybe i’ll make it a little project of mine once i have studio access again in the fall.

vice magazine apparently thinks goldzmine readers are of the good looking sort, and i’m thinking this hunch is right. richard kern held a casting in toronto, and as vice put it so perfectly, “everyone in montreal lost their shit -“why did he not visit montreal ôstie?!”. best for last, kern is now heading to montreal and holding an open casting call of sorts. in case you’re not familiar, the photographer and filmmaker has shot for herve leger, vice, purple, gq and the list goes on. known for his nitty gritty approach, he’s looking for anyone who fits the “KERN” look. details for the casting call can be found HIER.

1. cab rides lalala 2. ellen gallagher @ moma 3. comedy/tragedy vintage ring i bought at brooklyn flea 4. ernest hon taking me around dumbo 5. eating at pulinos in soho 6. cute pairs of vintage earrings bought at brooklyn flea. i highly recommend going to brooklyn flea, as it is the best thing that has ever happened to me har har. 7 … my other endeavours which were not photographed were dorm hangouts and nyu parties, and a visit to the standard’s le bain. kindof a crap club, despite the ‘hype’ but its worth going just for the view from the terrace on top.

milan fashion week was not my thing. im more of a london and new york gal. here’s graeme armour fw 11 which is essentially the best of both worlds, having shown in nyc in the past, and this season in london. im digging this clean futuristic, goth cowboy, im-a-boy-no-im-a-girl-actually-im-just-zorro look. leather frills, luxirare-esque cowhide and naughty but nice cutouts made these outfits. he definitely played it safe with all the black, but apparently the buyers are going nuts for graeme armour, having it be so wearable. meenal mistry of style.com put it best, “like sex, black sells”.

over the weekend i had what was essentially a “day” trip to new york; so short lived but a lot of fun nonethless. a friend now living in new york brought me to an area i’d never visited before, dumbo. its in brooklyn, right between the manhattan and brooklyn bridge, and is an annoying-tourist free zone! in i walked to an extremely well curated boutique called modern anthology, fully stocked with menswear (which girls do not deny buying), housewares and furniture. for the love of vintage, there was also a pop-up shop from brklyn dry goods. i stayed a while to smell the candles, and then stayed even longer to have a chat/become twitter buds with the extremely friendly staff!

68 Jay Street – Brooklyn, NY – 11201

one of the most interesting ways ive ever seen a lookbook presented. not to mention, when its paired with such a gorgeous place that looks/feels/tastes like heaven, you cant expect anything less. to keep it short and sweet, i love this video so much!
