sunday was the official start of summer!!! all of montreal was out on the mountain having a blast, throwing frisbees, dancing to tam tams, and picnicking to the core. caught up with some of my best friends; yuchi (my handsome best bro) and rachel (who is living up the model life right now! so proud).

spring might be in full effect for all of you in happy places around the world, but we’re a little late on that one so please excuse my excitement. i go through this cray cray spring cleaning phase where i feel the need to get rid of all the clothes in my closet. that usually consists of me blindly selling off my prized possessions for 5$ at a “vintage sale”. as much as i like clothes, i dont like having too many at a time. RIIIIIIGHT. so as i proceed to give away my closet, here are the things i want to replace it with:

(1) a pair of super kawaii oxfords please. like these triple major x daniel palillo ones, or maybe some bright dr. martens.

(2) leather overalls. because they are leather overalls. but since i will be spending my summer partying and being poor and living off ramen (three very cool things) in duh korea i will probably just get denim.

(3) something sunflower print from joyrich

over the weekend, i sortof became a tourist in my own city. i think its really worth it to just take a day to not run any errands or do anything work/school related and not even make plans! i met up with my language exchange buddy on saturday and we ate brunch and walked around a bunch and ended up at brooklyn, one of the mile ends quaint coffee shops.

the colorful chairs in the front of the shop look a lot more cheerful when the weather follows suit, but since montreal decided to host a snowstorm in the middle of april, well….. yeap. i got a chai latte and he got an americano and we were both quite pleased. costs about 2 to 4$ a pop. we had just eaten earlier, but from what i saw, the food looked yummy!

the only downside to this cafe is, unlike homeo in hongdae, we werent allowed to sit on any of the furniture in the back half of the shop, as its all for sale. it still adds to the cozy atmosphere though! instead, you have to sit on bar stools, which isnt always my favorite.

the employees were friendly, and as jinchul and i exchanged a few words with them, we waved goodbye. when we were then ready to take the metro, i realized we totally forgot to pay!!! i went back the next day to take care of our bill, but i suppose thats probably a good sign you’re really at ease in a place.

zubi always feeding this blog with a good dose of house! havent been to a strictly house event, a montreal favorite, in quite a while. this is putting me back in the mood, but the fact that a snowstorm is coming our way (WHAT THE SNOWFLAKE) is getting in the way, just a tiny bit.

honestly, so so so lovely for off the hook to feature me on their blog! i picked out a few items for my holiday wishlist (YAY). wanted to keep it simple, and this is similar to an easy everyday outfit for me!

by far one of the best boutiques in montreal, i’ve been shopping and attending off the hook’s events for a handful of years now, and its amazing to see how much its grown. from exclusive products to crazy instore events, the online shop, gallery and their eye-candy of a blog, its been an honour getting to know the off the hook family. the staff are passionate, knowleagable and particularly talented in their side projects, be it blogging or design. big shout out to harry (1/2 owners) for being the COOLEST GUY IN TOWN. for details of my wishlist, please visit off the hook’s website!

much love to the off the hook team xxxxx

i’m not one for lines, so im very happy i was invited to the pre shopping party for the h&m x margiela collaboration. big thanks olivia from zoe pr! although it was h&m quality, i think the pieces were really well structured, especially the leather jacket (in the first photo). i had been scanning the collection for a while prior to figure out what exactly i wanted, but some of my favorites, like the candy clutch, were gone in seconds. i came out with the keyring necklace and white painted jeans (reedition from 1992, the year im born muhaha).

montreal has the most beautiful of fall’s, and its also my favourite season because its the only appropriate time to whip out all of my go-to jackets. recently got this penfield vest from the dudes over at tiger distribution (who distribute many favorites in streetwear around canada : wesc, penfield, brixton and gram). not only is the down so, so cozy but the jamieson’s of shetland fair isle knit is such a cute add on!

a little study afternoon spent with my best friend, audrey. i just realized we’ve been friends for over 9 years! we found this perfect tiny street which resembles new york in the most pleasant of ways. if i look really tired (as per usual) its because i keep drinking coffee towards 8 or 9pm and then im up studying or pretend studying until 4 or 5am. definitely.. healthy.

after that we grabbed some burgers and kogos (like a pogo but 1 million times better) at one of my fave spots, picks! its cheap, delicious and i love the cute couple that prepare the food. you take a little slip of paper and cross off all the ingredients you want in your burger ~ i suggest mixing kimchi and bacon together. i always spend some extra time at the end of my meal drawing up a doodle of whoever im with and adding it to the corkboard. every so often they have to take down some of the doodles to make room for new ones, and im proud to say they never ever take down mine!

my favorite pairs of shoes are the ones i can carry from season to season, and those that seem to last forever. docs are apart of that solid few that can achieve both, all the while being aesthetically pleasing. i think i have this inner school child that never seems to want to leave, so i enjoy all the classics from a well made button down shirt to a spiffy pair of docs.

i remember i got my first pair a few years back, and i went to some questionable neighbourhood to buy them, basically hitting jackpot. they were an icey greyish blue, the original made in england kind, and were brand spanking new. its nice to know we dont have to go to these lengths to buy cute boots anymore! i honestly saw about 10 pairs at which i thought to myself “I HAVE TO HAVE THESE”; from patent to polka dotted, they have everything. along with doc martens shaped cookies, grilled cheese sandwhiches from barmacie and lots and lots of beer and jagermeister, the excellent crowd made for a really fun shop launch!
