why blog?
I started my blog as a silly little time passer (seriously, check my archives). I’d love to say I started a blog with a specific purpose but it was really just in good fun. I think that adds to my style of blogging. I try not to take things too seriously. Everything on my blog has changed and grown organically. I never had a specific vision in mind which I think helped me in the long run. I’ve met some really amazing people and formed some incredible relationships through it. Also, I just love the damn internet.

blogs you think are off everyones radar but you think should gain more attention? do you think some bloggers are overrated?

Underrated blogs… Kylie of Nice and Shiny is the most creative friend I’ve met through blogging. She deserves the world of success. There haven’t been many new blogs on my radar lately, I haven’t been keeping up with my lurking unfortunately. Point some in my direction, please!

As for overrated blogs, there are definitely some blogs that I don’t think deserve the success or recognition they receive. But, I try to keep a positive attitude about all blogs. Although I may not agree with their outlook or style, it’s always a good thing when people from the blogger world are doing well for themselves. I feel that the more success and attention blogs get, more opportunities are created for the entire blogging community.

definitely share the same point of view on that one. so where do you dream that blogging will take you?
Right now I don’t have any specific goals or aspirations for my blog. Any blogger would be lying if they said they wouldn’t like to be recognized on a larger scale for doing what they love. I’m optimistic about my future but don’t have any expectations.

do you think blogging will ever die?
Eventually, probably. Not anytime soon, though.

whats the fashion scene like in winnipeg?

People underestimate the power of a smaller city. I love Winnipeg because there are so many creative people who are willing to collaborate and inspire one another. We also have an abundance of good shopping so people work a lot harder here to find cool things. Scouring the dirtiest and most obscure thrift stores for those perfect pieces has almost become a sport here. Plus there is a surprising amount of shockingly good look people here. That doesn’t hurt.

do you find it hard to be a blogger from winnipeg, rather than living in a big city or does it help you focus?
I think living in Winnipeg really helps me focus on being creative. As I mentioned earlier we don’t really have big chain retailers here (H&M, Zara, Forever 21) so I figure that helps fuel my DIY fire. I truly love Winnipeg and the people it’s filled with.
