aint no thrifting like miami thrifting. its just so much easier to come across amazing pieces while thrifting in the states; because for the most part its all virgin turf, seeing as people dont go as much, and those who do, don’t have good taste to say the least. running through the aisles in the flamingo plaza is quite the pass-time. whenever i’m in town, it’s the first thing i do after landing. pretty much all my favorite finds and staples are from here. once my sister even found a brand new bottega veneta clutch for dirt cheap (i guess they had never heard of it)!

SVPPLY is just another site on the internet to get totally hooked on, and you will be on it all the time until, next thing you know, you’re a vegetable! actually its not that bad at all. facebook on the other hand, questionable. its a great way to find new products, especially when you are looking for something in particular. that way when you actually do go shopping and the nosy store clerk asks you if you need help with anything, you can proudly answer “no!” with a sly smirk. its also good for those annoying people who dont know what they want for christmas. how can you not know?! im pretty sure ive been slipping in something about christmas in every post lately.. i love everything about it! anyways, my list is done- get on with yours! happy consumerism!

verbal and yoon are such an explosive, creative couple. as a result of yoon wanting to live in tokyo, they both started up ambush; an affordable jewelry line worn by girly girls and kanye west alike. they stated in an interview that they are always looking for something fresh and like pushing their style to new limits, but most of all having fun. on the side, they dj and make music and thats how this doc martens collab came into place with a cover of the runaways ‘cherry bomb’. you can catch verbal (of teriyaki boyz) on hypebeast, and the couple also has a blog section for vogue hommes japan. to hear more about them, here is an interview they did with hypebeast.

a few bike prototypes from juri zaech’s design portfolio. i bet people would pay a crap load of money for something as customized as this. and just for fun, i included an old video from be your own pet. one of my favorite bands since i was 14 years old. i still remember the first time i saw jemina in concert and when she instantly became a sortof hero of mine.

Arthur & Co. is an online shop selling homey, vintage, collectors type items. Those dusty miscellaneous objects you might not take much of a second look at in a Value Village, are presented in such glorious ways. I think Arthur & Co. does them, and their mysterious past, justice. Some I might have no real use for, but I would enjoy just putting them on my shelf to stare at, while taking a break from my eyes being glued to my textbooks (groan). Now craving going to a second hand store or an antique shop so hunt down some things of my own! Mmm (wishful thinking), back to my books!

i have a problem and it seems im not the only one, but im definitely one of those really bad cases. i enjoy stuffing my handbags or backpacks to the brim until they get so heavy i turn into the hunchback and the straps just snap right off. this is unavoidable with me no matter how durable the bag. i always like to have my camera, wallet, some makeup, itouch, big headphones on me and thats just the minimum. when its school time i need snacks, laptop and books on top of that.

i havent found any other nice handbags, but backpack wise im definitely going with HERSCHEL for this years back to school. they are durable and have a nice clean design. i like the synthetic leather, the detailing and im so set on the black/brown combo. this canadian bag brand is selling various models including backpacks with a hat compartment if you are that much of a cap junkie. they also sell duffels and fanny packs! they can be bought at off the hook (if you live in montreal) or need supply online.

montoire‘s music was sent to me via this julien vallee video. this very video being popular in the blogosphere, it has also gained its attention in the real world. it has been selected to be shown in different music festivals in europe over the summer like leeds and reading fest, v fest, isle of wight, etc. the band made it explicit to me that they are often mistaken for being a parisian stroke of creativity, when in fact they are from montreal and want people to know it! actually it is currently 2:22am, and there couldnt be better music to listen to right now.

its always nice to carry around something in which you can pour out your genius into. i bought a muji notebook and pen when i was in the uk in january and my lists, doodles of things and people i met still make me smile. next i want a nice moleskine or something similar. but now for fashion students and professionals, there is the FASHIONARY; a sketchbook catering to fashion designers and those aspiring. im honestly baffled at how much they squeezed into this small little grey book. there are 34 pages of information, which includes everything from measuring charts to textile info. following this is 130 pages of figures to sketch designs onto.
