details
my friend wesley made this video for a school project. i was told to throw on some casual wear, which to me translates as sequined pants. despite the fact that it was cold and i was hungry, i think it turned out quite well. after a good few years of collecting virtual dust, wes is also going to be relaunching doubleyouwhy; im excited! this is a snippet of what we rewarded ourselves with afterwards :
daily essentials
lately this is what i don’t leave the house without (clockwise): 1- water or tea. 2- camera of some sort. in this case, my minolta and kidrobot zipper pulls. 3- swatch watch. 4- iphone 4. 5- MAC cream cup lipstick. cute pink for everyday. 6- m0851 wallet. the best leather around. 7- leichtturm notebook for class notes. 8- wesc headphones (thank you tiger distro). 9- chanel nailpolish, particuliere. constantly destroying my nails and am not allowed chipped nailpolish at work. 10- and all of this in my fjallraven. best bag really., and designed so small school children (aka me) don’t have backaches from heavy junk.
richard kern casting – vice magazine
vice magazine apparently thinks goldzmine readers are of the good looking sort, and i’m thinking this hunch is right. richard kern held a casting in toronto, and as vice put it so perfectly, “everyone in montreal lost their shit -“why did he not visit montreal ôstie?!”. best for last, kern is now heading to montreal and holding an open casting call of sorts. in case you’re not familiar, the photographer and filmmaker has shot for herve leger, vice, purple, gq and the list goes on. known for his nitty gritty approach, he’s looking for anyone who fits the “KERN” look. details for the casting call can be found HIER.
DVOTIO
margarita of the DVOTIO duo took me out for some burgers, to talk life. margarita (based in montreal) and diana (based in milan) were in their last run of law school in colombia, but changed paths and started on their way to a more creative career. now they designs bows and jewelry, and more projects soon. baby steps. what i found great is that the women hired to make the bows are single mothers in colombia. margarita made it obvious that its really important for them to give back to their community. she kindly gave me a few dvotio creations, and ive already worn a few on the blog in the past. the moustache necklace is pretty perfect for when im fundraising for movember (prostate cancer)!

although i’m not particularly fond of what i’m wearing.. i really love this j+ (jil sander for uniqlo jacket), its really well structured. and yes, this is the face i typically make while walking around campus. i also lost my camera charger, but i figure this is a good push to start using my minolta and other film cameras again. i’m trying to get back on my photography game. i’m going to start uploading to my well-expired flickr once again. sorry to bore you,
status magazine x style ID
yay! two streetstyle photos i took in manila’s status magazine. i shot yuanyi jeff lee (of elle china) and the anonyman in the tabis, this summer in paris, while we were waiting around to get into damir doma’s menswear show. my friend jp, who i also met at the time, is now going to have a style-ID section for every issue where he posts his fave streetstyle finds.
