verbal and yoon are such an explosive, creative couple. as a result of yoon wanting to live in tokyo, they both started up ambush; an affordable jewelry line worn by girly girls and kanye west alike. they stated in an interview that they are always looking for something fresh and like pushing their style to new limits, but most of all having fun. on the side, they dj and make music and thats how this doc martens collab came into place with a cover of the runaways ‘cherry bomb’. you can catch verbal (of teriyaki boyz) on hypebeast, and the couple also has a blog section for vogue hommes japan. to hear more about them, here is an interview they did with hypebeast.

a few bike prototypes from juri zaech’s design portfolio. i bet people would pay a crap load of money for something as customized as this. and just for fun, i included an old video from be your own pet. one of my favorite bands since i was 14 years old. i still remember the first time i saw jemina in concert and when she instantly became a sortof hero of mine.

favorite model. she was so sweet, and looked perfect- like a barbie doll. her top is by rad hourani.

Lunice and Diplo teamed up to make this smooth sailing remix of Deerhunter’s ‘Helicopter’. Although Diplo is a mastermind, in this track, I hear more of Lunice’ signature sound.

Deerhunter – Helicopter (Diplo and Lunice Remix) (mediafire)

While on the topic, I thought I’d take some time to introduce you to the fellow Montrealer! I have seen him play numerous times, and he always seems to be consistently on top of his game. His sets and songs have this sophisticated nintendo style to them, which goes hand in hand with the textured synths and upbeat bubbly glitches/beeps. Lunice also doesnt shy away from his LOVE for hiphop (and Lil B for that matter), and will undoubtedly bust a move during his own set. In November, his EP Stacker Upper will be coming out so keeps your eyes and ears peeled! If you like this sound, then I suggest you check out his fellow compadres, also signed to LuckyMe Records!

Clipse – Fast Life (Lunice Remix) (mp3)

Bonus Track: Hot Chip – Shake it Over and Over (Diplo Remix) (mediafire)

Arthur & Co. is an online shop selling homey, vintage, collectors type items. Those dusty miscellaneous objects you might not take much of a second look at in a Value Village, are presented in such glorious ways. I think Arthur & Co. does them, and their mysterious past, justice. Some I might have no real use for, but I would enjoy just putting them on my shelf to stare at, while taking a break from my eyes being glued to my textbooks (groan). Now craving going to a second hand store or an antique shop so hunt down some things of my own! Mmm (wishful thinking), back to my books!

Turbo Fruits – Mama’s Mad Cause I Fried My Brain (mp3)

the curse lives on! montreal fashion week was a total rain fest. i ran over from school so no time for heels and the works. instead i wore what ive been wearing almost everyday lately, my desert boots. someone ever so kindly pointed out to me, desert boots and rain do not go well together. who knew? i definitely enjoyed feeling the squish-squish every step i took. the great thing about montreal fashion week is that even when you look like a total wreck, they have hair and makeup stations so you can leave it to the pros to fix you up. i only did the latter and told the mua to “have fun”, came out like this:
