show stoppers
i realized it had been a while since ive had a total BLAST at a show, but a month or so ago that all changed when i went to see the much anticipated!!! (you dont understand how excited i was) two door cinema club- one of my favorite bands. if you’re not familiar with the group, ive written about them HERE. not only were they amazing, but the opening bands were well picked and so talented as well! two door cinema club – something good can work (ted and francis remix) (mediafire)

the first who blessed the dimly lit stage of sala rossa was MILLIONYOUNG. mike diaz’ music is like as relaxing as a walk through a rainforest. a whirlwind of undeniably smooth and hypnotic synth, a hint of africa through the exotic tribal drum samples, magical jingles brought by xylophones, triangles and tambourines, and the final touch is the playful guitar riffs that tie everything together. the real cherry on top is this floridian’s breezy voice which is even more impressive live, as every outburst of singsong is perfectly pitched. you can download the sunndreamm EP for free here! and purchase the be so true EP on itunes.

following this was two boys who go by BAD VEINS. just pure rock and roll. i think the singer, benjamin davis, has the kind of voice which separates the mediocre bands from good ones. their lo-fi sound is powerful and is convincing enough to get the most conservative bystander stomping. actually, while seeing them play live one will notice they have a diy mic made out of a telephone which creates this lo-fi sound. its not that hard to make, you can find instructions on how-to here! this is also another very strong band in live performance and in my opinion their best song is AFRAID- so well written and catchy. bad veins – fake baby (mp3)

Can’t wait for our crazy Paris stuff!! ps. I put you on my blog roll. much love sistah xoxo
