its getting colder and colder and our legs can no longer stay bare. fortunately for coco rosa and her diy project, not only are we keeping warm but looking good too. from chains to swarovski crystals to floral trims, her diy embellishments were even featured in vogue korea. coco rosa lays it all out step by step so you too can experiment with your once boring tights. click for the desired tutorial: floral trim, chains and bejeweled tights.

george mitchell for goldzmine

came across a new magazine about a month ago named WUW in chapters. started looking through it and realized how absolutely fantastic it is. it consists of: illustration/ photography/ typography/ urbanfashion/ graphicdesign/ architecture/ 3D design/ digital design and overall awesomeness. an artist that particularly caught my eye was GEORGE MITCHELL from the uk. he describes himself as an “illustrator, workaholic and skateoholic” , what more could you as for. what i enjoy most about his illustrations are the soft colors and the texture best of all. theres another reason why i like them, but im not sure i can really put it into words, so i wont try (‘je ne sais quoi?’). anyhow since i was stumped for words, i got more of the low-down from george mitchell himself. quite frankly, anyone who answers questions with ‘lurking’ and references to camels and wizards is a friend of mine. plus, the drawrrrring above was made especially for GOLDZMINE !

the process?

Sometimes my work just happens. I’l be drawing away in my sketchbook, on a scrap piece of paper, a toilet wall or a bus seat and i’l think to myself ‘oh that one looks pretty good’. So i take that drawing and finalise it with collaged bits of scanned papers or whatever else i find when im out skating or lurking.

the inspiration?

I think my main inspirations are the things around me at all times that i must take in without knowing. Im always observing people when im out, maybe thats where i get ideas from? I am really inspired by outsider artists, good punk music, good hiphop and lots of other stuff like this massive dog that walks past the skatepark which looks like a camel/wizard.

I started drawing at an early age but i never took it seriously. I used to just draw in my school books and what not. I think i got into drawing from boredom mainly. I used to draw pictures of drugs and weird acid trips when i was twelve even though i’d never done drugs?? Ive still got those pictures somewhere!!

if you were a monster?
